Innovation needs exchange
At the beginning of every new idea, there is inspiration and exchange. With our events, we create a platform for innovation-driven employees of the Defense Group. Here, they network, get inspired for their innovation projects, and contribute concrete ideas and projects.
Our event series
During the Digital Brown Bag Innovation sessions, we take a lunchtime look together at an ongoing innovation project or a specific innovation initiative. In conversation with a guest, we learn more about the project’s current status, insights gained so far, challenges encountered, or—more generally—new aspects of innovation within the Swiss Army.
In the subsequent Q&A session, we have the opportunity to dive deeper into what we have heard and provide direct feedback.

The Inspirational Talk takes place twice a year and features international personalities from the fields of innovation, technology, and defence. The focus lies on strategic perspectives, hands-on insights, and new impulses.
The format is aimed at members of the armed forces, employees of Group V, and decision-makers from public administration, business, and research. The events are public and held in the evening.
The emphasis is on impactful knowledge sharing – in-depth, accessible, and followed by an informal networking apéro.
During the Swarming Tuesdays, participants become active themselves. Together, a concrete innovation project is advanced.
Additionally, the Innovation Community gets an exclusive insight into a project that is in the process of being implemented.
In the subsequent networking session, discussions continue on an individual basis.
InnoBites is the innovation bite of the Swiss Innovation Forces at lunchtime.
Here, innovators from the army and administration come together for inspiring and stimulating talks on various topics.
InnoBites takes place every two to three months in Bern.
The Nexus events enable a straightforward and informal exchange between decision-makers from the army and selected start-ups.
This allows the army to learn about solutions from the civilian sector and enables start-ups to experience the army’s challenges firsthand.
Participants are curated, and for start-ups, prior registration in the database is mandatory.
